Hello. My name is Philip McIntosh and I am a professional teacher and musician. I started playing guitar when I was 15 years old when a friend of mine began showing me the bass lines to some heavy rock songs. I guess that says a lot about my musical roots. Rather than name all the musicians that have influenced me (and continue to influence me today) I'll just say that my taste is eclectic. Okay I'll name a few: Andres Segovia, Deep Purple, Leo Kottke, Neil Young, John Williams, Mozart, Beethoven, Pink Floyd, Johnny Winter, and Ted Nugent. The list goes on.
I've been playing for over 30 years - solo and in bands. I'm a professional but am easy to get along with. As a licensed secondary school teacher; I know how to teach, not just what to teach.
Coming Soon! I will be co-teaching a gourd drum workshop early this Summer at the East Library in cooperation with the amazing folks from Concrete Couch. More info to come when available.
My dedicated home studio is conveniently located near Cottonwood Creek Park near Vickers and Rangewood. It is easy to get to from central, North, and East Colorado Springs. Close to Falcon and Black Forest too. For electric players I have amps so you don't need to haul your rig. There's room for parents and siblings to sit in at a lesson. Are you classical player? I've got a foot rest for you. The point is, no matter what your style, all you need is your guitar.
